I dont think BMW and Toyota will be working on the Supra togeather. I think they will be working on the smaller version of the 86. I think its going to be a Z4/MR2 kind of vehicle, but who knows.

They've already said they're developing a higher model. It would make perfect sense to use the new 4 or 6 series platform with Synergy Drive and direct injection. The 86 is their cheap sports car. The only way is up from there.
I don't think MR is on the radar. Too expensive and to limited in terms of functionality. They wouldn't sign with BMW for an MR platform. BMW haven't done MR since the M1. Supra has been shown in concept form in the FT-HS (FUTURE TOYOTA HYBRID SPORT). A larger coupe with reference to Supra. The agreement signed with BMW confirms they were already developing something. You never announce before having something at least in the works already. Its a perfect fit. They're sharing tech, not building a specific car together. Toyota get BMW chassis development and BMW get Toyota Synergy Drive tech. |

Apparently Toyota said there were going to be 3 sports cars. One is 86 and one is going to be cheaper than 86 and one higher which i believe is the one working with BWW (Supra).
I wonder what the cheaper one will be like lol 27k-28k driveaway? |

I agree LFA doesn't count. I think Supra is a certainty and perhaps Celica built on the new Corolla platform. If Camry is any indication the new chassis development from Toyota shows that even their bread and butter chassis are better than ever. A turbo 1.6 in a low slung Scirocco style hatch would fit nicely in the range. Wishful thinking, but there's a market there. Just ask Hyundai about the Veloster Turbo.

Definitely not. Aim it squarely at a Golf GTI in terms of performance, price it in the mid $30k range and beat them on features. They really do need to cover the Veloster.
