I have a copy of the OP's dyno but I don't want to post it if he had reasons for its removal. TBH they look the same... 4-5whp difference peak but that could easily be down to wheel/tires or a catted midpipe. But, yah they look the same, same shop dyno, same tuner, near identical base lines, both on E85 (~E50), same loads, both used STD correction, both used 5th gear.

Interesting - I wonder why he removed it. Which header came out with more HP? I've heard reports of the JDL pulling harder up top, but hard to know for sure as both headers look quality. Really wish there was a more direct comparison.

I got my JDL EL 4-2-1 mounted and I tuned with OFT Stage 2+. I definitely notice gains in power around >5k rpm. Not much gains in torque dip though.

Is there any OFT tune more convenient than the stage 2+?

OFT OTS tunes are originally mostly made for their own OFT header (which is UEL). JDL EL one, especially due it being longtube header, may net limited gains with such generic tune made for different header. I have suspicions that you'd be better off paying Steve99 or wayne to fine-tune your ecu tune specific to your header, or go Ecutek and some good tuning-shop, eg. Delicious or CSG.

You can, by purchasing the tuner's tune!

Hi Guys, new here but have recently installed the JDL 4-2-1 headers onto my 86. I took it to a local ecutek tuner here and had a custom dyno tune as well as a flex fuel kit installed. The car feels really strong in the top end but it still feels like the mid range is lacking a bit (2.5k to 3.2k RPM feels sluggish, unsure if others have this experience on these headers/tune)

Looking through the forums here it looks like people have made pretty good gains in the mid range and eliminated the torque dip almost entirely.

Would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on this, I've attached the results from the dyno but it only shows the power, speed and air to fuel ratio so not sure if that helps but it looks like there is a big dip in the middle which I'm thinking could be the torque dip still remaining.

Thanks!

Looks pretty flat to me. What does a completely stock car get on that Dyno. Best way to compare

I'm baffled by your curves.
How can you have what's almost a power dip, without a torque dip to match?

The torque / power curves you have should be mathematically incompatible.

Am I missing something?

His curves are kW and AFR.
