Both the RE71R's and the A052's work well at fairly low temperatures. x2 Both RE71R's and AO52's are excellent in the wet. Now tires like the RS4 on the other hand are terrible in the wet because exactly the opposite.

Tire rack has 235/45/17s on close out for 125$ a tire. Gonna give these a shot. First real 200TW tire. Looking forward to doing some laps in the fall with these and Sonoma in August. RE-71s

But my wallet can't afford that. Hence have SX2's for general track days and throw these on for a session or 2. But I am excited to try these. The grip difference is gonna be

The A052's are king in autocross (if you have camber) and it isn't even close.

RE71R and A052 are very good even cool. The A052 in particular will fall off after a couple/few laps due to heat. These tires are kind of optimized for autoX and time trials more so than long stints on track, they have plenty of compound grip in cool/wet conditions.

Hard to beat the SX2's for the price but I think next time I am going to go 615K or RS4 for a "beater" tire. I can't get over how bad the SX2's are under braking. It is disproportionally bad to the amount of lateral grip they have.

I finally have a significant amount of time on the RT660's. I would say they feel similar to the Dunlop Z3. A little less feel, a little more grip. Communication is decent, audibly and through feel. Wear is okay, mine have about 6 20 minute sessions on them and they are looking ok. I expect about 5-6 track days. Heat tolerance is okay, after a couple push laps you can tell they are starting to fall off, still reasonably quick but not quite there. After 4-5 hard laps they can use one slightly backed down, but still won't be quite as quick as the initial couple. They seem to like about 37psi hot. Any lower and they where starting to roll over on me. I initially ran them for 2 session about 3 weeks ago. Before this last track day I checked them with a cheap durometer gauge and they where clocking in around 68-70 shore A all the way across. After 4 sessions Saturday I checked them this morning, they are still reading about the same.

I haven't run either of those. Just the Dunlops, and the Hankooks as far as 200TW tires.

Going by this chart alone the Kumho, BFGoodrich, Michelin, and Goodyear are better with no tradeoffs within that super 200 category.
