Hood Louvers

Trying to decide whether I should go TrackSpec dual large louvers or the 4 smaller Verus setup..... unless anyone has done BOTH!?

(Not a daily driver, always garaged)

The Verus keep more hood integrity and have optional rain covers. The track specs are larger but no gurney to help pull air out, so relying solely on positive pressure to vent.

I chose another option. Carbon fiber vented hood. Just need some hood pins, and you're good to go. I didn't want to cut into my hood. It's stupid, but I kept a lot of my stock parts instead of selling them like a lot of people do. Never know when I would need them.

Turbocharged, 1 track day boosted so far, NOT DD but driven a lot, also not garaged.

It's more expensive for sure, though. Give or take 1k for decent carbon fiber vented hood. Find one that actually gets air out of the engine bay. I'm a DIY-er, but chose to get a carbon fiber vented hood.

Still kind of a wash. You can always just buy another hood down the road for like 300 bucks if you decide to put your car back to stock.

Do either of these options look less like heater vents from your local hardware store once installed? I'm not trying to be snarky, but really do want to know. I've never seen a photo of them that make the look attractive. I suppose it's a form follows function thing but I can't get past that impression of them.

Dadhawk: they are more about function. I guess, some CF hood with louvers built in might look better .. but will quadruple if not more the cost.

That brings back memories of my old Chevrolet that had a hood vent. Yep, push the handle under the dash down and a vent popped up and, if you were moving, fresh air came into the cabin -

Oh, not that kind of vent? I see - (OK, I'll go away - again).

- it must be past my nap time.

MPH comes to mind. (I guess they go by Marsh Composites, now)

Mine looks like this missing louver off the DS1's thermal exhaust port.
