Yeah, that's too bad. This should definitely be an add-on only. I assume there's no taking it off without there being some issues regarding the holes there.

Hopefully they'll fix that for later editions because that spoiler is a little much (but I like the adaptive features/plus the wheels so the base model is a no-go).

A lot of spoilers are held on with 3M type tape these days… especially a lip spoiler like that where there is a lot of surface to stick adhesive on. It’s a lot cheaper to do it that way than to make variable tooling. If I were a betting man, I’d expect this will be easy to remove and sell on the forums to base trim and BRZ buyers.

If this is true, then it would be an easy fix. Buy the premium model but remove the spoiler so that it can look like all other market 86s.

Or just swap the trunk lid from a base car... I am sure plenty will be available used within a year.

I did this with my 2013 - two bolts, a couple wire connectors - takes about 15 minutes and you cannot tell the paint difference between cars. You won't even have to deal with the license plate on the new cars.

I got my trunk lid from an online add, but there used to be trunk swap trading threads and I am sure there are people that want the duckbill.

The overall picture is dark so it makes the blue darker than it probably is.

Eh - assuming the Gran Tourismo coloring is about right, it's has more gray to it than LS blue (which I'm less a fan of personally).

The top picture looks from the Nurburgring at dusk, and the second picture will be an overcast scapes location with fairly indirect light.

GT Sport does an amazing job on the colours and the lighting (even though its fairly old now), am very excited to see what custom looks people make.

I'm one of those who hopes it is an option in Australia. I can do without it personally. If a sportscar has a classic coupe shape I think it looks better without a rear wing or duckbill spoiler, personally. I always thought the first gen twins looked better without rear wings, and I suspect I will feel the same about the second gen and the duckbill when I have a chance to compare them in person.
