Nice to be able to see the GR86 without the distorted proportions. It's reignited my excitement.

The TOM's really is so nicely done. A shame Toyota didn't steal the paint color. I would take the spoiler of the TRUST and put it on the TOM's, and also stick with larger single exhaust tips on either side.. That would be just about perfect.

Yeah, I quite like genuine carbon fibre with a nice even weave. But the forged (scrap) carbon fibre look never really appealed to me. I guess it is easier and cheaper to do though, as you don't have to worry about getting an even pattern or trying to line pieces up straight.

I do like the Tom's as well, except for the side skirts. I don't like the channel created by adding the black side skirts. I much prefer the ones that close that gap.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Presents World Debut of the New JDM GR 86 (Second Gen 86)!

Looks like the transmission gear ratios and final drive match the ‘13-16 BRZ/FR-S. Thanks for that info, GT sport. That means we still have a 2-3 shift to get to 60, but it also means that the substantial 0-60 drop didn’t come from hitting 60 in 2nd. That should mean we will feel the performance improvement versus being on paper only.

The 2017s with the 4.3 despite having shorter gearing put up strong 0-60 with a driver mod. Recoded 6.2s in a perfect scenario.

New car will definitely be able to put down high 5s if you feel like clutch dumping and abusing your drivetrain banging gears.

I’m curious what motor trend beats out of their test car. They’re the kings of wrecking a car for a 0-60 time.
