Good eye. But being a Subaru side engineer this time around, I think the inspiration is from Subaru 360’s headlight lol 😂
Or maybe them being a descendent of Nakajima Aircraft before FHI, it’s from an airplane part they had around? I must have a talk with them about this…

I suspect we will also be able to get the tire pressures via OBD if they are communicated to the digital gauge cluster.

Looks like they were testing on a NASCAR venue… lol
Look at the right side tire pressures

Well the 2nd gen cluster clearly shows separate pressures for each tire so.....

Werent these a mandatory vehicle requirement a few years ago?]
So cars have to at least have the dummy light telling you your tire pressure is low.

We were talking about tire pressure and temp, not oil.

Probably more like that's as close as they could get to a circle with the panel contour. The biggest inspiration there is simple geometry.

Mandatory in US. Never have been in Canada.

True. Maybe this is something to look forward to midway of the 2nd gen's production cycle.

And mandatory in UK and EU. Been here since 2014. Data is available on OBD2 and can be read through Carista App. Looks like this Name: Screenshot_20201028-132056_Carista.jpg

And a manual transmission.

Akio Toyoda hopes to not replace all cars with electric motors, and keep some sporting variety of cars with soulful and engaging piston gas engines like this. This hydrogen converted engine does need a catalytic converter to remove Nox, but unlike gasoline or diesel, the only other emission is water vapor.

So yeah there is a God. Lol
Really happy to hear Toyota is trying to keep ICE around for performance vehicles. While I appreciate the benefits of an electric drivetrain, the emotional component of driving is heavily influenced by an engine/exhaust note.

Looks like media drive event will be in early August in upstate NY. I will be there! I'll make a new thread closer to the day where you guys can tell me exactly what you wanna know.

My biggest interest will be in deep diving into what they actually updated in the chassis. Hard points, subframes, control arms, etc etc

Everyone noticed the car will come with the oil warm-up cooler like the new WRX's have.

Thats the Nissan Z event too.

Really just wanting to know how it drives from people that aren't on the Toyota and Subaru payroll!

Not that I am suggesting they are pretending, but certainly their opinion doesn't hold any more sway with me than a marketing pamphlet...

Hoping anyone who gets to drive it take the opportunity to drive an OG 86 for the day before so they can also make decent go at comparisons.

Not normally a fan of darker blues only because they are tough to keep clean - but I think that looks gorgeous. The added bonus is it hides the trunk lid strip and really pulls the design together a bit better for me. Those are the first pictures of the car where I've actually thought "beautiful" - that it could compare to the lines of the 1st gen.
