BRZ is not even sold in China, at least I have never even seen a Subaru dealer in Sichaun province. Nice gearshift knob though

I called a Sydney Subaru dealer yesterday on when the 2022 BRZ will arrive. His best guess is Nov-Dec 2021. When I asked 3months ago, est. was August. In the meantime, there are magazines.

my brother works at a chrysler dealer. of course, it's different than subaru, but he's said more than once, the entire dealership network usually finds out availability of new vehicles from the consumer buyers before chrysler corporate will tell dealers officially when those vehicles will become available.

so take the dealers word like a cute girls phone number that's still missing a few digits. it's a nice start, but nothing to brag about.

We’ve seen the Subaru version, and the supposed Toyota front end, when will Toyota show their version?

Rumor has it that Toyota will be unveiling the new 2022 GR86 and will be providing them to all the athletes at this summer's Olympic Games in Tokyo.

This article confirms that the car comes with fake engine sounds, coming from a dedicated speaker behind the center stack. Also confirms that it can be disabled.

Waiting to find out if the car still sounds like a tractor.

6.5s to 60 (~6.7 to 100kph) is damn slow still.... expected like 5.9 to 60.
We will see after tests but lets hope its faster than that....

The official 0-100kmh for the first gen BRZ is 7.7 seconds. Sounds like like a "street start", than a clutch-dump style launch. It's been established, that the 2nd gen BRZ should be slightly faster than the ND2 Miata, which does 6.0-6.3 seconds 0-60mph.

Based on stats - ye I would thought so, so lets hope its really conservative official talk for now. I saw MX5 184hp doing 0-60 in 5.9 the fastest I think? With 14.5 1/4.

Fastest stock in my 86 on better tires (215 still) I did 6.9 to 100.

I think stats are 1 thing but the more important thing will be how this new engine feels to drive. If they got rid of that anemic feeling low-mid range of FA20 it will be enough. Stock MX5 which is slower than my tunned 86 still feels better low-mid range due to the nature of its engine.
