considering how he keeps whining about how unreliable and broken the twins are every chance he gets (and by extension subaru)...im guessing more people who would rather whine about the car than just go find something else to enjoy?

I'd *love* it if they did a 3-door "shooting brake" FT86 a la clownshoe/Ferrari breadvan!

Maybe more like a Pre-C8 Corvette, they tend to have a completely flat butt with a short rear overhang.

Hey my dog needs that backseat.

That's a good picture of the 2022 BRZ. The side is a little too "swoopy" for me but it still works.

Eck, the 2+2 E-type is kind of a dog...
More of a standard 2+2 hatch than a shooting brake IMO...

Pretty much any style of car has been around for a long time...
Shooting brakes were never nearly popular enough.

Proper shooting brake coupe/bread van style would be brilliant, pretty much my ideal 'one car garage.' Practical when you need it to be, sporty when you want it to be.

I don't see how anyone could call the car fugly. Especially compared to the majority of what is sold today.

It has excellent (classically speaking) sports car proportions. That's literally a fact.

It doesn't look like it's on stilts. Or ate it's predecessor. Or is covered in fake vents. Or has a grille that takes up 90% of the front. Or is FWD and just "looks" RWD. All modern styling sins.

It's basically the opposite of a Civic Type R.

Main thing for me is that the 2+2 configuration shoves the rear wheels too far aft. For a "proper" FR sports car, rear wheels are generally just behind the driver. With or without some rear overhang, either way can look good. But the rears should be further forward relative to driver, right behind the doors. Really wish there were a short-wheelbase 2-seat FT86!

Guess which of the above has the more rearward weight distribution!

So those of us that think it is as ugly as sin and are willing to say so should just screw off?
Only the people that think it looks great can post?
