Thanks, soundman98! Always love your post around here.

It’s a 2020, so there better not be any rust haha. I live in a small town and their is a custom muffler shop here that I am going to price-out for the install. They do a lot of fabrication for exhaust, but I’m sure they would take my money just to bolt things on. I agree with you, 4-6 hours sounds reasonable when you have access to all the tools, gaskets, and a lift.

Thanks again!

This is the best I can do for now until I get it off the jack stands.

Here is a link to the build process.

Dear Diary,

Well due to weather delays my exhaust, headers, and tune are not coming till next week. So I am just refreshing Fedex-tracking like an insane person to see when my originally overnight delivery will show up (currently stuck in IN)

Good news is 86Speed located me a Corsa exhaust! The Fujitsubo exhaust I wanted would have taken till April/May to arrive. The Corsa is coming from PA and sent out today.

It is looking more and more like I won’t get my exhaust in time for my mechanic appointment, so I will just have them install the headers and I’ll do the catback myself.

Problem is, I do not have a decent/safe jack stand setup. Does anyone have a jack stand or a ramp they can recommend me to get under the car enough for things like oil changes and exhaust work?

Thank you!

People will steer you towards good brand ones, and it is absolutely up to you in which route you take (safety is in fact, the most important in this case). I would say the simplest thing to do is look up jacks / jack stands on Amazon. They have plenty of options including the best kind.

Just from a 2 second look on Amazon, some examples of great cheap ones are below. I bought my stuff at Harbor Freight and have never had a problem. Many will say that's the cheap way to go, so if you don't like that, what I provided below may be better. Or you can spend 50-200 more bucks and get the best of the best.

Jack: Pro-Lift F-767
Jack stands: Pro-LifT T-6903D

Thank you, gentlemen. I ended up going to a rent-a-lift place today and installed my Tomei UEL headers and flashed the ECU with ecutek (Delicious) Hell yeah. I’ve never done more than an oil change or spark plugs, so I feel proud.

Problem is: there was no check engine light immediately after the header install; flashed the ECU in the parking lot. I drove it home and it felt amazing. It was a 25 minute drive and all good till I pulled up to my block and I threw a code P0507 - high idle rpm? I thought the tune was suppose to fix that stuff? Zero issues driving, so I cleared it, drove another 20 minutes and it’s still off.

Do I let delicious tuning know if it comes back on? Sorry, I know this should go on the tuning sub and I’ll throw it up there if it needs an in-depth response

EDIT: just started up to go to the store and the code came back. Bleh.

If you're with delicious, just continue to do revisions. Send them a log and they will revise as needed to fix any troubles. Don't stop until you're satisfied, that's part of the price.

Okay, thank you. I know they are a reputable shop, so I have faith. The only thing I can think of is that I told Delicious when they created the base tune that I was adding a catback exhaust too, but that hasn’t arrived yet because of the storms in the Midwest. So maybe that is the cause. But either way, it seems to be an easy to fix since it’s just a RPM expectation error (the car idles fine).

I’m watching fuel trims in the meantime to watch for leaks

Exhaust should have pretty much no effect on that so I'm not sure what the deal is. Either way sounds like you should be ok, and they should certainly have that fixed.
