adding to what @NoHaveMSG said, draw an imaginary right triangle with the adjacent side parallel to the ground, and the trailing arm pivots are both ends of the hypotenuse.

The opposite and adjacent sides represent the horizontal and vertical components of the thrust vector. Now with that device in place, consider what it does to the shape of the triangle. The tail doesn't jack under thrust.

Ya but... Did any of them every pedal as fast as they could then slam on the brakes and at the last second slide the bike to the left or right in front of their friends? Who, by the way, would all run over to see how long the skid was and how big the hook of the "J" was.

We used to have skid contests all the time. Longest one wins. You lean way over the handle bars to get as much weight off the rear as you can. Good times.

Finally ordered a new fridge for the kitchen today. We have been without for like 6 weeks. Going out to the garage for everything is getting real old. Still have to wait over 2 weeks for delivery. $3k for a fridge seems outrageous. And why is a counter depth fridge more than the same fridge in standard depth? Makes no sense. This better be my last kitchen fridge.

Where did you grow up that smashed pumpkins were in the streets?

Goleta/Santa Barbara... kids would cause mischief by smashing the occasional jack-o-lantern on Halloween night. There may or may not have been a corelation to the treat given by the homeowner- just sayin’

we always did it downhill to maximize distance.
