This is the rear bumper that was issued at the same patent office as the front:https://search.ipaustralia.gov.au/de...8-d13bcf6bedf1

I wonder how much a painted front bumper will cost for people like me who don't have a Toyota dealer near by and prefer the Subaru logo. I can't imagine there's anyone who prefers the Subaru bumper.

I have had cars with terrible headlights where the fog lights actually did help out with normal low-beam light pattern ('05 Mazda3). S2000 with Xenon headlights didn't come with fogs, no need for them. Ditto for my '17 BRZ PP with LED headlights. I'll turn them on in foggy conditions but honestly they don't do much if anything near as I can tell... Again they fill in a bit to the left and right immediately in front of the car but nothing I'd call useful. |

Probably the worst offender, styling wise among the Japanese in the last decade, is Toyota. They (and Honda at times) seem to have gone down a rabbit hole of making their designs as ugly as possible, loading them up with all the kinds of creases, cuts, angles, fake vents and fussy design that already makes them ugly on release, but will make them look very out of date in just 5 years. The 86 was one of the few cars spared this, fortunately. Whoever penned gen1 did a great job. |

The BRZ front has grown on me.
I need to see this GR86 in full. Certainly comparing the two patents the GR86 has what looks like about 15% more open grill to the engine, and slightly larger side flow too. Might be important for modders. |

I thought getting rid of the happy face and the tear drops were both clears pluses in anyone's eyes. Do some people prefer the "smiling" shaped grill?

Probably most of the people that have always chosen the BRZ.

What bothers me most is how far it protrudes, like it is stretched or something. The nose also dips low, which looks a little odd to me as well. I believe the side vents don't help at all either, as the 86's styling on that is much preferred for the 22. I guess I'll just have to wait for the face lift on the new BRZ (if it ever comes and is better designed). |
