Inflate the tube to 35 PSI. Set it and forget it somewhere in your car.

Its what us Lexus Guys Do lol.

PS. DO NOT USE AFTERMARKET SENSORS. They Dont work well at all.

I keep hearing this "pipe bomb" suggestion. It won't work. This only worked on a handful of older models from various manufactures. The newer systems all require the rotation of the wheel to trigger them to send out their normal signal.

If someone can prove me wrong on this please do but as far as I know this will not work on our cars, or most newer cars with TPMS.

^^^ Agreed. Also, that's how those sensors keep their battery life. They only turn on when the wheels are rotating. At least that's how it worked in my previous TSX.

It has been confirmed already - they use valve stem sensors as using the ABS hub wasn't accurate enough. And the valve stem sensors need movement so no pipe bombs.

Someone in the wheel forum said the sensors match the 2012 Camry, but not confirmed.

The BRZ has no TPMS, only the FR-S does that's why no light on your BRZ.

Thank you

It is way better with out, otherwise every tire change off to the dealer to re-program or live with light on dash. most of my cars have 2-3 sets of tires: summer, winter and race.

agreed.. just not used to the FR-S getting something we don't! but I suppose not having TPMS is actually the better 'feature' haha

Has anyone had an issue where the TPMS in their Canadian FR-S was never activated in the first place? I swapped to my winter tires, and I park near my stock tires (that have TPMS in them), so I assumed my TPMS just reset everyday. However, I had a longer drive a few days ago (went maybe 50-60 km) and my TPMS light never turned on. I called the dealership and they said it's possible that the TPMS in my car was never activated. I'm going in either tomorrow or Friday to confirm.

But if mine was never activated, then good news for me. I won't have ot worry about putting them on new wheels!

Anyone else have this happen to them?

That would be weird, but that would explain why the TPMS on my old matrix never turned on.... I always complained drove like a boat and was super mushy feeling. One day, I checked the tires and all four were between 22-26psi. TPMS light never turned on for me either and stock pressure is supposed to be like 34psi....

I went on a trip in the FRS(snows installed, no TPMS), about 35-40km. one way, with about a 3 hour stop at the away end. TPMS light started flashing about 3 km from home on the way back, going solid just as I went into the garage. It went out just after I started the car the next time in the garage, stock wheels with TPMS about 6 ft away. At least I know I will get the reminder to check the air pressure in my tires! Since I got a warning on the FRS I checked the pressure in the tires on my wife's car and sure enough, they needed some air!! So TPMS warning light served it purpose!!!!

So i would just like to confirm. If I switch wheels and don't bother to put the tpms in. I will get a warnign flashing light but I will still be able to turn off traction control and use all of the cars functions?

I read somewhere on the forum that is will disable the ability to turn off the traction control etc.

You can absolutely still turn TC and VSC 100% off just like before. The light only flashes for a couple minutes, then goes on solid. I've had my snows on (no sensors) for over a month and no issues other than the light.
