Interesting. Today I switched the stock diverter valve jr supplies for the rxk with the softest spring (red one). Once I removed the stock valve, I could tell the jr one seems stiffer than the rkx with the red spring. Prehaps this is why it feels better with a stiffer spring. In any case, I let the red spring in and I will start rolling around and see how it feels. At idle everything seemed ok. Perhaps a little more whoosing sound so as to the valve recirculating more air than the stock one. But it might be just that I am now putting attention into it. Will see. I also noticed the air filter was busted; so I changed it for an AEM replacement (exactly the same dimensions and materials than K&N just cheaper). So It might also be a good idea to check the bottom side of your air filter, just in case it is rubbing bad with something (as it appeared to be the case here.) I attach some photos just in case they might help. Best. |

I was nervous about this but if anyone wanted some peace of mind (if the carb sticker wasnt enough): i passed a state ref with this setup, which involves smogging the car. So it truly is legal in commiefornia

My car has been running fine for over a year but recently it wants to stall at idle. Today I noticed it was rich at idle (10 - 12 AFR), still trying to stall, after a quick trip to the grocery store it threw 2 codes: P0172 and C1201. From what I saw online, it might be a bad MAP sensor? I have the 4 BAR MAP sensor from JR, can send a log to someone to review and confirm.
Just cleaned the MAF, cleaning the air filter as well (waiting for it to dry). Any other ideas? |

I will add a data point. I spend a few months trying to solve my p0172 issue. New maf, new filter and 2 new maf cables did not work. What ended up working was wrapping aluminum foil on the entire length of the maf cable. It has been 15k plus miles so far, p0172 never came back.

After cleaning the MAF and the air filter the car seems to run fine, still monitoring the behavior. I don't think it's interference since it has been running perfectly for over a year.
