Is DIY not an option? Toyota/Subaru has made this car really easy to do things yourself. Plus you’ll save tons

I did a trans and diff fluid change myself and used the money that could have been paid to a mechanic to buy a nice low-profile jack and 4 jack stands to own and still come out cheaper.
Also @Ultramaroon @Chen We gotta get the boys together and grab dinner

Thread revival, but sharing good shops in the Metro West area I've encountered.
Advance Automotive in Tualatin Total Upgrade Automotive in Hillsboro Clays in Hillsboro, but recommend OEM service work only, no upgrades. Total Upgrade, formerly Transmissions Unlimited is a young man running the business after dad took a back seat or retired. Buddy with a CTS-V Caddy recommended the shop. I had them put on my HKS SC, Centric rotors, hawk pads and stainless lines. As well as my Southbend Clutch, Bob W recommended cerakoted bearing retainer, verus clutch fork and OEM subi flywheel. If you want non-standard upgrade type of work where you supply the parts, this is a great shop for that. They're quickly becoming my go to shop as I opt not to do these things myself. Not a tune shop BTW, my HKS was roll in and roll out with their flash tablet provided kit. They've started doing different services to keep their income rolling in and added detailing package offerings. I added this to my HKS install. They did a nice job, but it was rushed a bit. That said, the mechanic working on my car had to tend a sick kid a day and lost time. They just needed the windows cleaner. I'm working with Total Upgrade for new motor mounts and rear bushing upgrades to get rid of all the wheel hop issues the SC and much stiffer clutch provided. Likely get that done next week if the last parts show up. Torque Solution motor mounts, rear subframe adder kit, diff mount bushing adder and one more bushing swap set managing diff torque flop in axis with driveline rotation. It'll be the first time the labor is more than the parts. |
