91 is the highest gas available in normal stations in Arizona.

FWIW.

I don't understand why you would such poor grade gas.. Gas is "cheap" why can't the gas companies offer more grades?? UK gas stations usually have a minimum of 2 grades of unleaded and sometimes even 3 grades.

In the USA we normally have three different octanes available. On the west coast we have 87, 89, and 91 octane.

Shell (local gas station to me) usually have the following available:

V-Power Unleaded 98.
Premium Unleaded 98.
Unleaded 95.
Unleaded 91.
Unleaded E10

My car's tune is set for 95 and 98, I commonly use 95.

I believe you guys use a different scale than North America. I don't know the conversion myself, but most places I have lived have 87, 89 or 91, and then 93 octane. Usually up to 15% ethanol for all grades. The west coast does not typically have 93 for some reason that I'm sure Google would tell me.

Depending on brand we have 87, 89, 91, 93, 94. The 94 usually has no corn in it.
There is station near my cottage that has 100 but they won’t let you pump it straight into your car and it costs you the price of a decent meal per litre.

Which stations around here have 94 with no ethanol?
Petro Canada 94 uses 10-13% ethanol from my understanding.

Occasionally I'll run Stinson 93, but I understand that's also a blend of gas that they buy from petro. Only thing I like about Stinson is that they have a seperate pump for the 93 fill.

In Az we usually have 87 89 91 Diesel & the E family which are E54 & E85.

I filled with e85 Saturday, drove 200 miles, then put 91 in making my E% 45.

Racing gas is available at or over 100 but it's 11+ per gallon.

The Petrocan up the road from me has it. I will snap a picture next time I go there. Inaccessible due to construction right now.

I've been hoping, since much of the corn crop has been devastated in the midwest recently due to a big storm, they'll soon stop putting that garbage into my fuel.

I can only hope.

I feel bad for you guys who only have 91 as your highest octane, but it seems like it doesn’t hurt performance too much. Remember when Subaru had to re-map STI’s several years ago?! They underestimated how bad California fuel is.

With that said (its a RON vs AKI rating system difference)
Australia uses RON, north america uses AKI

So if AKI 91 is minimum required in NA, then RON 95 is minimum required for Australia.

We can run 89 for brief periods without harm as well but I wouldn’t use it all the time and the drop in performance is noticeable.
There are many people that can’t even get anything more than 91.
Stupid question. If I normally run 91 in my FRS, will dumping in a tank of 93 give any real noticeable difference on the street/auto X?
