What would you expect that to be at the crank? Drivetrain losses of 10-20% could be anywhere from ~550 (rated) to ~600 (doubt it)!

600bhp @ 15% loss says my calc. Dynos these days are more efficent, so I'd say perhaps more like 580bhp.

I know which one I'd still rather drive/own. On another note though, I've never heard of a 1000whp 7m. more specs please

Get ARP's number, a fresh head gasket and the proper torque specs out the door and he'll be a very happy camper.

yeah, the previous owner had the head gasket done with arps, so now it's pretty much just time to mod.

That is a beautiful torque curve.

When he had 600ish whp (the wheels and carbon hood/light covers from this photo shoot are mine now).

And now with 1015whp (920 all turbo with a 100 shot of spray):

http://www.importtuner.com/features/...pra/index.html

More custom stuff than you can shake a stick at. He probably could've built an equal power 2JZ for 1/5th the money.

NESW20: Even with head studs and a MHG, if it was bagged on before it could still surprise him with rod knock. Very oil sensitive motors. That being said, most of the 'rod knock' and 'BHG' problems come from young kids getting them cheap, turning up the boost and ignoring proper maintenance. That white Supra pushed a bit over 600 whp on stock (shot peened) rods with just a forged piston upgrade. Another buddy is bone stock bottom (plus the studs/MHG of course) pushing 530 whp on race gas and 450 whp on water-meth street map and he BAGS on his car. No problems. But they're meticulous about their maintenance. Funny thing is as the 'indestructible' 2JZ is getting cheaper and more kids are installing ebay turbos and not treating them right, there are more stories of broken 2JZs. Go figure...

he just picked up some Rotella T 15w-40 for it, and it seems like it was treated pretty well by the previous owners. engine sounds and feels very healthy. it's almost 100% stock, too.

after he eliminates the 12psi fuel cut, would it be safe to run roughly 15psi on a modified ct26 with an intercooler? i appreciate your help! much easier than sifting through supraforums.com, heh.

EDIT: and could you possibly direct me to a good MKIII parts website? seems like quality stuff is hard to come by for these cars.

http://www.supramania.com/forums/ is better for Mk3 owners, but still full of BS and idiots, there's just less Mk4 > Mk3 crap. Like Supra Forums, there is good info and good people there if you can sift through the crap. I'm on them both with the same screen name and pic and I'm buddies with a couple of the SupraMania mods in real life, but hardly post.

Problem with Mania is that a lot of the members are stuck with the web dogma and don't think outside the box and even stick to the Vendors only for their parts.

In all honesty, I cooked my last 7MGTE and went with a 1JZGTE so I'm not super familiar with the engine mod progression. (Plus the crossover pipe offends my sense of logic for intercooler routing.)

What kind of parts does he need?

i'll have to show him the site and talk to him more. i think right now he's looking for suspension parts (maintenance and upgrades) and an intercooler. i'll find out more from him before i take up too much more of your time. really appreciate it though.

If I was fortunate enough to have $375,000 to spend on a car I'm not sure I personally would go with an LFA. It is a great car no doubt. I love the design and engineering behind it. However in the end I think I would spend $135,000 on a Porsche GT3 RS and then spend $80-90k on a new 2011 F10 M5 for a daily driver. That would still leave $150k to spend either on the two cars or on hookers and blow.

Edit: Or just spend the difference and get the GT2 RS instead.

Double frick! 1) That poor, poor car. I shudder at the possibility of it ending up at West Coast Customs and matching her pink Bentley. And 2) *facepalm* I didn't know Paris Hilton had the same birthday as me. UGGGH!
What a fuggin waste! There should have been an Enzo rule when buying the LFA just so that kooks like Paris Hilton won't end up "bosozoku'in" the shit out of it!
