My post was to help others out too. For less than half the price of a coating, someone could apply some header wrap themselves. It will outperform the coating, and if there is a crack then a welder will be able to quickly, easily and cheaply fix the crack. The header wrap can be removed and reapplied. It doesn’t look as pretty as a coating, but it is the better thing to do. Many welders won’t want to weld over a coating. Obviously, there are exceptions. Even if they do, most porous welds on thin walled headers won’t survive repeated heat cycles of metal heating/cooling, expansion/contraction. At best, it is a gamble with their investment.
