Removing sound tube.
I'm going to be installing a perrin intake pipe on my 15 in a week. Just wondering, what plugs does everyone use to plug the hole that the tube comes in the car in the passenger side. I can't for the life of me find the reddit post, forum post..or whatever it was.
Thanks! |

Pretty sure mine came with a rubber cap, like a vacuum cap. It’s zip tied on the tube coming up from the firewall. You can remove that and plug it from the interior if you want.
Also I kept the resonator attached to the intake, most think it smooths out air or deals with back pressure for MAF. |

My Perrin intake came with a cap for the sound pipe that stays in the engine bay (right at the 90* elbow).
I don't see a need to also cap the hole in the firewall, but the 12v accessory cap from the glovebox does fit well there. Or you could take the 12v cap to the big box store and locate a plumbing plug with the same diameter and use that. Last edited by Ohio Enthusiast; 06-19-2020 at 02:46 PM. |

I used a 1 plastic plug that perfectly fit the firewall hole after removing the sound tube grommet. I think you can find similar plugs in the fix-it section at auto parts stores; I happened to have a dozen or so in a bag.

3/4" plug from the plumbing section at your local hardware store
