Didn't they do this with the GT86? I believe there was an RC base version intended for track.

Yeah. Unpainted bumpers, steel wheels, and I believe no radio or AC.

It's quite common in Japan. Honda have done it with plenty of TypeR models. Cheaper for the teams as the blingy stuff isn't needed. In my experience these seem to oddly be more expensive to import due to rarity/cool factor.

"10-speed Sequential Shiftmatic paddle shifting provides a manual-like experience"
Mmmm....I'm not sure about that part.

My italics.

There's a hoot!

A ten-speed CVT! Zounds!

Will it come with bar end shifters, or does that cost extra?

Isn't a 10 speed cvt an oxymoron?

Toyota is building a lower spec GR4 but they are also building a "granny" version using the GR4 body but lower powered engine, front wheel drive and AT... So it will look like the GR4 but won't have the power etc...

Shhhh don't twist the knife.
It would have made a nice clownshoe and I would have traded the 86 for one.

Oooh factory alignment numbers are green at -1.5° camber up front, average -1.8° in the back.

Probably details already posted in thread but whatever;
https://toyotagazooracing.com/jp/gr/yaris/1stedition/

225/40/18 Michelin PS4S on an 18x8 for the upgraded package, same size Dunlops for the lower trim.
Torsen differentials on both front and rear axles, electronically controlled clutch system in what appears to be the center location.
Curious about rear suspension, typical MacStrut front, but almost looks like a trailing arm rear? Japan uses double wishbone and multi-link interchangeably.

Brakes might be too big to fit average 17" wheels which is a shame, but not untenable, 17's are on their way out anyway.

Got this too.

I think they're just trolling at this point.
