Conditions are normalized with the SAE correction which makes sense they be so close in the lower rpms. 6.5-7.5k rpm Looks like a solid 5whp gain over the cookie cuter intake setup everyone prescribes and could in theory translate into a 8-10whp gain over stock. The stock snorkel was kept intact as well. |

And shouldn't more time/work needed to get tune MAF scaling right also be valued in case of intake? Imho only reason making sense for worth getting intake might be wish to get specific sound change. But as sound is subjective thing, that reason is not valid for many. |

With best of best there comes another issue that seems characteristic of twins regarding NA bolton intake/exhaust mods - diminishing returns when nearing 30-40hp/tq gains most seem to hit.
That is intake already doesn't net much when it's only upgrade. It will net even less if it's in addition to eg. catless header+E85. By then it's not about $300 for 5-10hp gain, but $300 for 1-2hp gain, as biggest lump gained already from headers/tune/E85 with only smaller and smaller gain left to scrape on top of it. |

To many people 400$ for that last 2whp is worth it when NA. To many others its not. All depends on the individual. Also if header/tune and even E85 many still use OTS tune. Custom tune by itself will net more gains over a OTS tune, so needing a custom tune with your 400$ intake that only will net 2whp, that custom tune might add another 3whp on top, so your custom tune + intake might net 5whp when done together compared to no intake and just a OTS tune, making the custom tune justifiable at this point when to many it otherwise would not have been. Again to each their own. provide the information and let the individual decide what is worth it. 100$ to someone might be a lot of money, to others it might be toilet paper. Never know the individuals situation, income level, etc... |

Eh people dump $1700 into a header when they could have spent half or less to get similar gains while running E85. Add to it thats before the custom tune and hardware another $1700 for said header all for maybe extra 3-5whp? On a good day. Diminishing returns are far worse on exhaust parts as price increases, but its gets a pass and recommendation. I suppose that's off topic and for another threard.lol

a full decat on a 17+ header/fp, with a drop in filter and a custom dyno tune will give you the same gains maybe even slightly more as a aftermarket catless header/FP, CAI with a OTS tune.
But a good aftermarket catless header/FP (most are not that good, some are), CAI and a custom dyno tune will net you the most. Probably another 5% on top of the 1st setup. E85 if you have access will net another 5%+ on the top of all that. Bang for buck the 1st setup is the best by far, but it does still leave a decent amount on the table. and for pre 17s drop about 3% so the difference will be more, and even more worth it. |

If you're looking to upgrade the car, why not upgrade bushings on things? Rear diff and subframe bushings, control arm bushings and get and transmission mount insert?
Or go baller mode and get a carbon fiber driveshaft |
