2017 toyota 86 headlight bulb ?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows how ti change the hid bulbs on my 2017 toyota 86. I looked up other videos and the headlight appears to be different, the screw cap on their video was on left where it normally is for headlight bulb and u can unscrew it to access bulb. On mine that white screw cap is on the rught and when i unscrew it looks like a computer mother board in there😂

Here is a picthre of my driver side light

I posted about this in another 86 group. The 2017+ uses LEDs and in the manual they recommend you go to the dealer if the headlight goes out.

Here's the best part... if you need a new headlight, the assembly is $999. I joke you not. Cheapest OEM i could find online is $699. Per. Headlight.

Easily the dumbest thing Toyota could have done in my book.

Morimoto makes an excellent set but it's rather expensive too.
Used light units can be had for ~$400 on eBay.

Which isn't terrible considering the cost of new ones!

I've thought a LOT about reverting back to the older HID/Projector setup but I'm not in your shoes (yet) with just a few weeks on the car.

If you shop around your local used marketplace, used pairs usually sell for around $600 USD ($300 each or so).

Still expensive, but not $600 per light expensive

Anyone know if other aftermarket headlights are plug and play like VLAND OR SPEC D? Or do we need to rewire a harness?
