"Caliper" paint is good to 900 degrees. The high heat paints are good to 1200. There is nothing special about caliper paint other than saying caliper on the label.

Ya. I sold the FRS with life still left on the original brake pads after 150,000 miles. My brakes don't take much pressure so I could probably use finger paint and it would last.

I’m no expert, but don’t think you need 1,200F lol stock pads can’t even handle that temp. Even those semi racing pads goes up to 800~900F.

Calipers usually don’t get over 500. Most of the heat is in the pad and rotor surface.

I know. That is why the high heat paint is fine. It greatly exceeds the max it will ever need to. "Caliper" paint is just marketing for the guys that think everything needs to be special.

I suspect many brands like rustoleum, VHT, and Dupli-Color are more similar than they are different.

POR-15 has a good reputation at being resilient against corrosion. Their kit has a prep primer for neutralizing rust, and it was relatively inexpensive.

With new good condition calipers I'd probably go with G2's caliper kit. Two part epoxy finish, paint with an activator.

I coated a 1970 frame in a restore with POR-15, and restored an old steering wheel with their wheel kit. Good stuff.

Bolted up an invidia Q300 cat back exhaust system that i picked up today locally for 300 bucks (not sure what they go for but that seems decent?). It's paired with HKS EL header added a few weeks ago. Seems to be a decent combo. More drives will tell. It's tame.
