Call local media, only way to get through to these douchebags is public embarassment

start here, their 2 stars should give you an idea of how shitty they are to everyone, so its not much consolation but they suck regardless of what you drive

Check your owners manual and also the dealership.

You may have voided your warrenty because the filter was not changed.

Read the first post. He decided to change his oil after the break-in period. This service (or lack thereof, really) has done zilch to his warranty. All it did was expose a shady dealer to which the OP should never, ever return.

In my experience, the attitudes of a franchise or branch location tend to cascade down from the corporate hierarchy. So it is unlikely that a corporate parent will correct a franchisee or branch that has done something like you experienced. Once in a while, a well-run firm will have a "rogue" bad agent, and they do take steps to correct the problem. But that is infrequent.

The fact is, a well-run organization will have internal controls that prevent the kind of crap that you experienced. Unless you get a really strong response from corporate that includes not just their response to you, but their efforts to correct the franchise or branch location, I suggest you avoid the company and its agents entirely.

A corporate culture that is flawed and tends to cheat or mislead the customer is very hard to turn around. They may make efforts to placate you by offering you a refund or coupons, because in the long run that is the cheapest way to deal with you, but that won't change the culture.

Dam dude, thats a Horrible experience. I work at a Toyota Dealership, Service Department. I don't know how other dealerships work, but we've always made our work clean. What you get, is what you pay for, and if anything were to Happen to it while at a dealership, they're 100% liable for it. Personally, I would always take it to the dealership. They know more about the fr-s than any other shop.

It sucks, I have learned everytime you hand over the key you potentially given someone a free test drive, I had dropped off my car at a body shop for a scratch repair before and they drove it because it was warm when I got it back!

But it could be that since they didn't remove the filter and wanted a short drive to proper temp (2 miles) and check the oil level to ensure they put in proper amount of oil. I have free 60k service on my other vehicle and they sometimes they do road test it to make sure it is going straight, tire rotated properly, nothing falls off etc.

Very sorry to hear about this.
This could be as bad (service wise) as Premier Parking Spot in Florida

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/05/01/p...aught-on-film/

Equip your car with a GPS device before the next oil change...

Since they did such a poor job at masking your cross, they might as well get busted for joyriding it next time, and that would involve serious legal consequences

I'd expect to be given what was advertised/promised. Not holding them to that, is seriously bending over and handing them the lube. (although in this case, they may not use it but will tell you they are!!) lol

What do you mean free? Do you know how expensive customer acquisition is? They send out these 'free' coupons because it's far cheaper to acquire customers in such a manner than with conventional means. As such, your continued business (in theory) has a substantial value far outweighing the cost of a filter and 5 quarts of oil. Additionally, his time has opportunity cost associated with it, and since this dealership did nothing but joy ride in his car, he had money taken from him. Personally, I'd send them an invoice for the cost of an oil change, 1.5 hours of time, and the use of the vehicle for that amount of time.

That sucks. Similar story with mine. I was told the first 3 oil changes were free. Long story short I go in after 2k miles and they said its too early for the free but you can pay for it. So on that case I did it on my own. I had an appointment for this. So I went to the parts and guess what NO oil filter in stock. I asked them if that means the techs won't have any as well and he said no they won't have any. After asking what the hell were you going to do if I decided to let you cange my oil? Just dump the oil and no filter? Got the run around talk. I'm a paranoid SOB too lol. So always mark your stuff.
