Could you please explain the bad habits that the OSG will punish on corner entry? Thanks!

Thus, if you try to come in too hot - OSG can't completely go open like a stock OEM Diff and so the car will want to push a bit more than freely rotate.

Mine is set up as a 1 way so no lock on decel.
I have 1.5 way OSG in my s13 and I love it on track (and autocrossed the car for a long time on hoosiers) and yes, a little bit tighter on turn-in though for that car it works perfectly. |

Is your OSG set up like Lugod's STX tune? |

Even with Lugod's updated unit it's still less "free" on entry vs Torsen.
But I'm not advocating one way or the other. |

Depending on who sets this up, can have something low like 30-40 ft-lbs or something high 80-90 ft-lbs+ on static lock. Even a 1 way can change the behavior of the car on how it's configured.

3rd gear
How often are you guys shifting into 3rd?
![]() Is the 4.3 final drive on later cars a plus or minus? 2019 nationals videos seem to be all 2nd gear. |

I drove my 2019 at Dixie in CS. I was on the limiter several times both days. I think the the 4.1 rear would have been an advantage there. |

Once or twice on a larger course for sure, the shorter FD cars would've been at a disadvantage very much near/on the limiter at 60+mph in a few places iirc. You can mitigate some of that with a higher redline tune as the later engines have a slightly improved valvetrain. If all your local stuff is small then the shorter gearing might benefit you.
