As someone who owns 13 2.0T, the thing I really like about the FRS is the gear shifter feel. The Genesis does offer more features but the interior quality is really about the same, not that great. I do feel like the FRS is far too overhyped but that doesn't take away the fact that it's a great car. The Genesis gets a lot of hate simply due to the fact that it's, well...a Hyundai.

Someone said "it's only a second faster," talking about about the Genesis. A second is a fair amount of time in the automotive world. If it was .2 seconds faster then word "only" would apply.

Either way, both are great cars and it all comes down to what you're looking for.

Just my 2 cents.

Matter of opinion, really.

To me, pre-13 looks very feminine and dated. Like it has a retarded grin for a face.

Put better tires on the FRS and it would be just as fast
Argument goes both ways no?

I stopped watching when they introduced the cars and the BRZ was an automatic going up against a 6 speed manual Genesis. Not worth my time.

Put a square setup on the GC instead of staggered and the understeering problem is pretty much eliminated.

I don't get why the FR-S/BRZ people are so butthurt over the GC beating it out. You bought the car because you like it, and you KNEW it wasn't the fastest car on the market, so why get mad now?

I honestly think the FR-S/BRZ is a fine car, and I'm still considering getting one. If you need the car laying down hurt on other cars to feel some sort of need for self justification, then you should just sell your car, because you will never be happy.

I've seen the GC people whining with the Cobalt SS and the Mazdaspeed 3 people. I have also seen G37 people whining with the GC people. Just love your car, and get over it. No need to feel bad if your car isn't the fastest.

My bad, I stopped reading that guys after he said it was a second slower.

But the Tire difference between the stock FRS and the track 2.0T is big enough to say they are not on even "footing"

pun!

Nice selective reading.

Genesis Coupe tires

R-Spec 2.0T
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A (Max Performance Summer)
Front: 225/40R19
Rear: 245/40R19
140/A/A

That only pulled 1.2s with those tires!? Put that soft of a tire on the FRS and we would be up by 1.0s +. (Star Specs are only 200/A/A for reference)

Not in my experience. The GC can only get 265s in the front in stock classing and that's its achillies heal, other cars that it competes against can fit 285-295s in the front. The car needs a front sway bar to have any inside wheel traction and between that and the small front tires the car just doesn't perform like its numbers says it should. Been there, done that.

Now I know the track is different because power factors in a ton more but every thing is relative and I rarely go to the road courses anymore. So autocross performance is what I've been more interested in lately and it's not just always about pure performance, its also about enjoyment. While I can get an STi to turn similar times around a tight autox course as a Boxster, the Boxster is 10x more fun to do it. That won't show up in any magazine but others that were able to do the same thing agreed 100% with that experience.

We all know how much more power the GC has, we're not stupid.

If anyone's butthurt, it is probably the GC fanboys who feel like they don't get enough attention/praise/recognition? It bet it feels awful when a shitty, underpowered Subaru constantly grabs all the headlines.
