I drive like a grandma till my oil hits at least 170f. Then as soon as i have a clear wide open opening i do a nice little pull. Obviously if the road is too wet or too much traffic it prevents me from giving my car what it wants. But i can usually easily and safely go “up close to redline without actually hitting the redline” @Tcoat a few times a day.

I'm talking PD off, not long hold off.

I mean no offense when I say this, but if you think that long hold is "off" you have never had to trail brake the car or taken curb at speed on throttle before. It makes a difference. My first year of tracking I was going through front and rear brake pads at close to the same rate when using the long hold due to EBD and E-diff interference.

I like how people are saying they need to wind out to redline just to reach highway speed safely but also acting like their car breaks traction on accel like a Cobra. I drive like a dumbass a lot and have never been surprised in the rain.

@86TOYO2k17 Is supercharged IIRC. I've ridden in a twin that had a c38 and it will absolutely light up the rears at speed.

Even a stock car will break loose a bit on a 1-2 shift and will usually chirp a 2-3 shift.

I'd like to do a comparison of a 0-60 shifting at no more then 5500 vs trying for a 0-60 time and post it, but I don't want to break forum rules on racing. My solo 2 will log 0-60, 1/8, and 1/4 mile times. For science

Yeah I can chirp the wheels easy enough I've just never had the back end actually do much of anything going in a straight line. Even off of a hard launch it hooks up before it has a chance to step out.

Yes,
but i never mentioned anything about traction or needing to redline to get up to speed. Just that the car loves to be revved out on the daily.

Ya, I agree. I think that I have red lined my 2013 maybe twice. Both times I was trying to stay ahead of a soccer mom, driving a minivan, from a stop light.

I thought redline mark was at 7200, but i just checked looks like its 7400. A lot of cars have the redline before limiter as more of a warning. In my defense my cars been on stands for 2 weeks now in surgery.
Either way I’d say 7200+ is close enough to redline to consider it redlining. Don’t need to bang off limiter each shift.

You're right, it does happen quite often. People spend a ton of money on a built engine and then trade it in for blue book. Happens with leases even more often.

Because the dive bar is closed and your income stream is diminished?
