The gas isn't "bad". I run everything I drive on it, including a Mustang with a supercharger and my wife's Acura RDX (turbo)...no problems. There's just something about some of it that these cars (presumably the HPFP) don't like. This is a car issue, not a fuel issue, and it needs to be addressed. Until it is, if one fuel or another shuts it up, or an additive works, I will use it. So far, gas without ethanol has worked for me.

I find it amazing that an upgraded after market HPFM wouldn't void the engine warranty. Even worse that it could be considered as a fix for the current problem rather than the original one being fixed and the owners apologised to for the inconveniece. To come on a forum and warn against owners fixing their own problems because the dealers can't is piss weak! Lastly, who is going to go into one of these self serving dealerships and say i've been putting a teaspoon of fuel lubricant in my tank for each gallon of fuel after listening to the 'apparent' dealer reaction in here? What will there be to show for it after filling up with ethanol blend before taking the car in for the new you beaut modified HPFP whenever and ifever they get around to it? |

Did you ever experience tweet noise under driving condition with the ac is on? Since you used the lucas oil and the chirp went away I wonder if the tweet went away as well.

My FRS chirped at idle like crazy for weeks. Perhaps the extremely hot weathwr we were having could have affected things. Anyway, was using Petrocan 93 with 10% ethanol and switched to Vpower 91 from Shell and havent noticed the chirping since!
I need to make sure I'm posting on the most realated threads for this. Someone probably already made this observation. The reason it happens a tankful or 2 later makes sense if my observation is correct.

i only mentioned the aftermarket as an alternative "upgrade" over the factory one bringing to mind there are certain cars on the market already like the GTI that have these upgrades available but although not for some, they could just wait for an upgraded/ updated part from toyota themselves to fix the chirping issue. and hey me knowing how the system works cause i do work as a tech and i do care about the community i just wanted to give you guys a heads up and find a way to work with the system so there isnt ever a headache to have to deal with. |

Anyone ever try this stuff? I haven't seen this type of product listed, since the theme is ethanol issues...
Safeguard™ Ethanol Fuel Conditioner with Stabilizers Lucas Safeguard™ Ethanol Fuel Conditioner with Stabilizers was developed to specifically address issues associated with using ethanol based fuels. This applies to E-10, E-15, E-85, pure ethanol and any mixtures in between including gasoline. Our Product is completely soluble in all ethanol fuels and will not harm filters. Lucas Safeguard™ Ethanol Fuel Conditioner with Stabilizers contains effective additives to prevent rust and corrosion associated with the use of ethanol fuels. Safeguard™ Key Benefits: • Cleans injectors, valve seats, combustion chambers and other critical fuel components • Stabilizes fuel and prevents varnish & gum formation in ethanol and gasoline • Combats deposits and protects your engine oil lubricants from the harmful effects of alcohol combustion Safeguard™ treats up to 80 gallons(302.8) of ethanol fuel. One ounce treats five gallons of ethanol fuel. Our new 5.25 oz bottle treats up to 25 gallons (94.6 liters) of ethanol fuel. Recommended for use in automobile and marine applications. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DIESEL APPLICATIONS |

Don't worry about it though, these are the same 'techs' that stuff up the service on your car every time it goes in, so incapable of forensic investigation at microscopic trace levels. |

If you have never seen the lubricant that shuts up the chirping with just 1:1000 that is a dedicated fuel lubricant designed to do its job and then combust without a trace, you aren't the dealer vehicle tech you profess to be.

According the the write up, it blends completely anyways haha...I ask because people are using a lubricant to counter act the ethanol, why not try something made specifically to stabilize and remove the effects of ethanol?
What if lubricating isn't the key, but the lubricant happens to counter ethanol, but ends up fouling something else up in the process? I haven't tried 2t personally, I have tried a couple additives that are made for use in an automobile though. |

Mine stopped chirping with Shell gas as long as I stay below 3500 RPM, but it starts chirping if I rev the engine to 4500 multiple times. It stops chirping again on the next trip as long as I stay below 3500 RPM. It doesn't make sense to me, but this is better than chirping 100% of the time with Chevron gas. |

I don't "profess" to be anything other than an employee for a dealership who was trying to make an effort to share my knowledge to the community and help out how ever I could. So how about instead of trying to worry about what my profession is and what i do for a living, we focus on the reason this thread and the whole site was created in the first place and that is for the cars that we enjoy so much. Back on topic now? Thanks. |

I appreciate any input but by speaking on behalf of dealerships on a technical matter you were assumed to be qualified on a technical level. Fair enough now we know you aren't. You have asked about the problem at work and passed on what you were told. Thanks for that. |
