I got it back last night. The tech was sloppy and got a lot of oil ont he header which smoked like hell for the first few miles driving off from the dealership. I had to bitch the guy out too because when they had the aluminum skid plate off the lazy shit didn't even clean it off. But he did clean it off and it smells a lot better after a drive.

They used blue stuff (according to the paperwork).

Blue stuff? Man toyota techs are being inconsistent.

Did resealing the time cover ever fix your issue? I think i have a similar issue and im not sure whether to do it myself or take it to the dealer...

Not sure if it is any different than what happened with mine. But it did stop leaking after the initial reseal.

Side note: Took the car back less than a year ago for the recall and now my engine operating temps went back down 5-10 degrees to where it was before the first reseal. Like magic.

Add me to the leaking valve cover list. Yay! I have been wiping it down when I drive the car hard. It is a small leak at the moment. Knock on wood it does not get worse.
