Track people are the most accepting people of the car community as long as you dont show up thinking you are the re-incarnation of Ayrton Sienna. You should check out CNY SCCA autocross. Autocross is a really easy way to get into tracking. I also do coaching at Pineview for members and non-members. No pressure there either.

Just let go of the "idiot" thing. Every expert was a novice once. I've been doing this for 50 years, and I'm still a student. Josh is a good instructor, and Pineview is great fun in our cars. Meet up over the winter, and DO IT in the spring.
