It's black metal right? I think it has a bolt and maybe a rivit in it. If so, you can drill out the rivit and replace it with a pop rivit (available at any reasonable hardware store). Honestly just use the ziptie. Those Aclips are garbage

I ended up taking a deadblow hammer to the sidemarker. Used enough force to hammer that damn A-clip in but not crack the sidemarker itself.

What the fuck, Toyota and Subaru...

Is THAT the worst design ever? -

I had one pop off mrs humfrz's car. I just glued it back on - it's stayed for two years now -

I haven't owned enough cars in my life to answer that yet, but at the very least, it boggles the mind why they went this direction.

The challenge is to see how far I can last with A-clips before I lose my shit with them. I'm going to pop off the bumper a few more times for an oil cooler and supercharger install, but that won't be for a while thankfully.

Right now, I want to repair any minor damage and finally start using my newly acquired HIDs on the road again. Honestly can't wait for more parts to come in.

I hear that. I don't have much luck with the pushie/clippie things either.

I miss the old days when they used bolts & nuts or screws to put things together with.

Also trying to figure out what the hell is up with my passenger sidemarker. A-clip will not pop in no matter what. Don't want to resort to ziptying or tape, so did anyone manage to fix theirs without resorting to such methods?
Did you seek permission from your car and its manufacturer? Identity wipe out... Never a good thing as history has demonstrated..

Wow, I think that was me. How did you guess that?

Tried wrapping the dash in suede yesterday. Didn't turn out as badly as I feared it would, hope that impression will last.

It took me a while to remove the painted sidemarkers and install my stock markers. And when I finally got one of them out I wasn’t even sure what I did.
I think someone else mentioned this, but partially removing the fender liner helps. And a good flashlight, and having 3 arms.

Right? I think both of mine are ziptied in now. After removing them 4 times and having one repeatedly pop out I started pulling back the liner and zipping them. Now they go in easy and come out easy. No unwanted pops, no wrestling
