I was thinking MAF voltage in particular but then I remembered this excellent thread frome @steve99 on the basics of logging for troubleshooting. I'm reviewing it now.


Oh, which do you have, a wet, or dry air filter element?

The Edelbrock kit comes with what looks like an oiled K&N filter.

Intake air temp is used to calculate air density. Let's do that one too.

If this is the case, clean everything upstream of the MAF. I doubt that the element will still be too oily so I'd just leave that for now.

I thought so too, but I cleaned the MAF sensor yesterday with MAF cleaner. Didn't look particularly dirty or clogged to me, but thats just a visual inspection.

If this is the case, clean everything upstream of the MAF. I doubt that the element will still be too oily so I'd just leave that for now.

The only things upstream of the MAF is the air box and the filter itself. Not super sure how to clean those to be honest.

I was just thinking of wiping down the inside surface if it was oily.

I would replace the MAF sensor if cleaning is not helping. Those sensors do fail.

Not yet. I've booked an appointment with a local performance shop to try to help diagnose. I'm still leaving towards a vacuum leak since I don't think I can find it myself without access to a smoke machine.

Definitely a possibility but it's also a very expensive part. I haven't been able to get my hands on a sensor from a known good car before I go out and buy one though.

$200 is very expensive when you are running an Edelbrock kit?
