It doesn’t seem too bad, using a lift is required it looks like. The IRP shifter is much taller with very quick throws, that would be perfect for the track!

Full engagement is unusually high because the stock clutch is rated to let go before input torque frags the transmission. It's actually a sign of high mechanical stiffness of the overall mechanism relative to the springs.

1. Been driving the car for a while and been used to it. Sometimes you would have to put it in 2nd then into first but perhaps that's just mine

2. The "tractor" sound isn't so pleasant to the ears. Drop a gear and commence smiles per gallon.

3. Short shift kits are a matter of preference. I am currently running it stock for almost 5 years so far but I am thinking of getting the TRD quick shift kit and/or STi short shift kit. on the TRD shift knob.

4. I have tried both. I kept mine and it's great for daily driving. A cousin of mine removed the spring from his tS. It is heavier but feels a bit more "engaging" if that makes sense.

I did, the first BRZ I drove in 2013. they did not have a manual on the lot. Then I went and drove the FRS Primer gray edition with manual. Then I went and bought a CRZ. Fast fwd 4 years later I went and bought a Yellow BRZ and did not not even drive it.

Your Mom is a cool lady then! I had my Mom in my car recently and she mentioned I should get an aftermarket exhaust. She drives a Mini Cooper S.

So STI makes a short shift kit? Or is it a STI shift knob? I probably won’t get the TRD kit. I already have TRD springs, intake, wing, and shift knob.

There is both an STI knob and an STI short shifter kit.

JK I did the same thing. I initially test drove an auto because that’s all my local dealership had. It was still a fun driving experience. And I’m glad you dumped the CRZ.
