Took the FRS in for a warranty repair. Had a rav4 for a day. Meh. Took the Jaguar in for a warranty repair. They were out of loaners. Got a rental Dodge Caravan instead. Meh, but useful.

So I think I should get a Ferrari.

quite possibly the nicest fairlady in a while. $40k is a lot of money, and i don't agree with the whole 'numbers matching' thing, but it's clear that it was done thoroughly. the only change i would make if it were mine would be EFI...

EFI would be neat. I test-drove a '71 about fifteen years ago. It was super minty and the owner wanted just $4200. Dual carbs. 4-spd. Orange on black vinyl. I just remember the motor being really silky-smooth compared to what I was used to driving. I took it on some backroads and got it up to about 50 mph. I never needed 4th gear it was so smooth and long-legged. I passed as I had just bought my '74 Celica coupe and had nowhere covered to store a 2nd collector car. They're sure looking sweet now.

the early saab 900s would hit 115 mph in a heartbeat. quirky things but well designed machines....key down in the shifter, the hood hinge system to get to the belts on the firewall.

I've had the pleasure of doing a few 1000 miles in a late 70s 930 with 935 heads. it worked some neck muscles)) keeping the oil tank low kept consumption down but would blow through a quart in a couple hundred miles in baller mode.

not vintage...but wickedly quick for break-in limitations...

I had 1996 Saab 900 Turbo CV. Great car. The guy before me had it 100% dealer maintained so I kept it up that way even though it was expensive. 198k miles and it was still going strong until some punk in an S2000 lost control of his car trying to pass me in the rain and took us both out. R.I.P.
