They've been doing that with the Impreza WRX STi for ages. JDM gets the EJ20 while export gets EJ25.

I would love to buy that Supra for performance and interiors but that bulbous style is still not growing on me. I am hoping that someone will come up with an aftermarket kit to replace that trunk and rear fenders.

Can't the Supra engine just be bolted into a FRS since they are both Toyota's?

Nope, because one is a Subaru and the other is a BMW.

Yep, you just have to mount it on it’s side so it sits lower like the boxer. There is a diy thread on this.
