I forgot Rambo was out and the GF wanted to go see Downton Abby. Space stuff looked cool and I usually like Tommy and Brad in movies.

P.S.

I just can't have nice things.

On the way to work. I think it was a truck tire in the middle of the exit this morning. I never had a chance. big ditches on both sides and it was dark so I couldn't see it until it was to late anyways. fml

That sucks. My last week of commuting (of course) this summer a pickup next to me must have launched some rocks or something at me because all I hear is BANG on my door. Result was several deep gouges on my door and rocker. Shit on roads sucks.

I like Brad Pitt as an actor, but my first thought when I saw a commercial for it was, "Why isn't that Matt Damon?" Wonder if he would've made it better haha

They recently imposed a "no social media" rule for their kids. Absolutely no pictures or even mention of their children, or that they have children, on any social media. As my brother put it "do not acknowledge my children's existence on facebook".

My mom was pretty broke up about it because she's been wanting grandchildren for ages and all her friends and family talk about and share grandchildren pictures all the time. Despite that, she tried her best and really only made a couple of tiny, obscure mentions that my brother was able to pinpoint.

He went on a tirade against my parents and has basically written us off. He's talking to my sister and me again, but I don't think he's talking to our parents and I have no clue if they will resolve it. I personally don't like kids, so if this gets me uninvited to insufferable family events I couldn't care less, but I'm pretty upset with how he's treated our mom.

So you're right, some family just sucks.
If your brother and his wife and kid(s) live close to your parents, I suggest that your parents invite them over for a fried chicken dinner some Sunday.

See if that works -

My wife and I get along just fine with our families. One of our sons lives in Hawaii, another son lives in Missouri, her relatives live in Saint Louis, one of my brothers and my sister lives in California and my other brother lives in Georgia.

I wonder why we get along so well -

They're not states away (well, technically they are, but we're adjacent), but they live about 45 minutes away and getting them to come down is a pain. Also, even if they "resolve" the situation, I don't think our mom and his wife will ever reconcile. They had some words, and my mom is stubborn, while his wife is... Let's just say she's not likely to be very forgiving.

My son said I better start saving up for an expensive college. I said not to worry; we wouldn't pay for an expensive one. Then I said, "trade school".

I don't think he believed me.
