Well, I swung by Bubba's shop and he said "no problem", he went back into his shop and came out with a BFH, a gallon can of Bondo and a rattle can of white paint. I told him that I wanted a second opinion and left.

I then went to a local body shop. I nice helpful fellow there suggested that I try the hot water and plunger technique. If that didn't turn out OK, he could replace the bumper and paint it for about $1,000.

So, tomorrow, I'm going to put a kettle of water on the stove, get my plunger and give it a go. -

Well, OK, today, after my "school bus" runs, I attempted the hot water/plunger technique to see if I could pull the dent out of my car. Well, shit, I found three plungers and the smallest one came closest, but, it is really old and hardened off, so it wouldn't get a good suction on the dent. Yes, as mrs humfrz always says - "life is hard for you, isn't it".

Tomorrow, I will see if I can buy a new, smaller, stronger plunger -

Well, ya, I thought about it and checked out the possibility. From underneath, I can't figure how you could get to it - sort of a double wall deal there. From the trunk, I ran into the same double wall thing. Taking out the tail light to get to it is a possibility - but, it looks like a lot of trouble -

It isn't as bad as you think

It is two plastic push pins on the trunk liner followed by four 8mm nuts. I've removed it so many times, that I can get the taillight off within a minute.

Just follow this guide till Step 3:

Oh, OK, thanks - good DIY instructions.

I'll give it a go.

First I'm going to try my $8 very special suction type plunger puller thing that is special made for FR-Ss, so the salesman at Walmart said -

Wait a minute, I thought 'projects' were more proactive whilst dent repairs I see as reactive and therefore more like a chore/work activity..
