well usually the headers are constructed on a jig with the initial tubes coming out being fairly straight for a few inches, and the holes are placed away from the welds. And the turbo is mounted in the pictures above, so I don't get the problem.

Maybe the runner curves too close to the head so you can't get a nut on the mounting studs

Some of the runners do not come straight off the flange, I can take pics today if I remember. They are also too close to the holes. Every nut I try eventually starts to scrape at the few problem runners before it's all the way tight, and then once it does that it starts to go on crooked.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but what if you cut all the runners off right at the flange then had a 1/2" spacer welded on each runner to push it out a little? Maybe too much work

I used shorter exhaust studs, no problems getting the nuts on. Also used factory nuts not the ones that came with the manifold.

Too much work and will push the turbo out 1/2" which isn't what I need.

Shorter studs won't even begin to help since the stud are not in the way of anything... And the factory nuts most definitely are too big lol. But i'm glad they worked for you! Mines ef'd for sure. Even the small/low profile nuts dont work too well. I will figure something out.

What about putting on a sleeve or several small washers?

Just doing research and came across your heater hose re-route. With mine all torn down I think this is the way to go. Thanks for sharing and the great pictures.

Incredibly busy with life lately and my 2013 built sti! Also planning a wedding for this upcoming October. I'm really close with this car, literally another weeks worth of work and it should fire up but no time right now

So apparently everybody BUT me knew this; but the oem (20+ years old) crank pulley/harmonic balancer likes to separate after a while. I was highly advised by multiple people to get a new one. I ordered the fluidampr and started taking things back off the car to get the old one removed and new one installed.

Before that, I was working on heat wrapping my dump tube and downpipe.

I've got the new Fluidampr harmonic balancer on the car. Finished with the wiring for now, got good fuel pressure, tried cranking the car over and it will not fire . I am trying to upload a revision to the tune but can't connect my laptop to the m130 ecu.

Going to try again today with some pointers from people online.

Also, my oem water pump (re-used it) is leaking from the weep hole. That was a cool $200 I saved, now I have to reclaim my coolant and take off a bunch of stuff to replace it.

I could officially go cash out a new MK5 Supra or older MK4 Supra with a turbo and v160 in it with the money I have wrapped up into this car.

Sorry to hear you're having problems. Not all of mine are quite solved yet either. Keep at it, you'll get there. I spent a small fortune too. I shouldn't have, and I probably wouldn't again. But I don't regret it.

Jesus, 2 years is too long for a project to last. I guess I'd be tempted to give up if I wasn't so attached emotionally to my car.

But it was never speed or power I wanted to begin with so I guess it doesn't matter. Yes I LS swapped, but I guess it was just in search of something"better". It's an addiction to grow and improve this car. Power is just one aspect that can be made "better". If it wasn't this, it would be something else
