Open flash stage 1 performance
I have a 2018 ts. I just bought the open flash tablet and flashed the stage 1 tune for 93 gas. The rest of the car is stock besides running 93. No e85 available here.
The car feels super sluggish to me. Especially lower in the rpm range. It feels like it picks up high but not until maybe 6000 rpm. Is this typical? Did they set up this tune for more top end? I wasn’t expecting anything magical, but after a month I’m always over the torque dip and wanted to see if this would help in anyway at all. I’m almost debating going back to stock until I can buy headers.... I tried searching but didn’t see much specific as this Thanks |

Dead pedal/sluggish feeling is reported as normal within a hundred or so miles of the reflash until the ECU relearns throttle/pedal positioning. It's probably that.
FWIW the 2017+ MT cars use a different exhaust and intake and I'm not sure if the stg 1 that comes bundled with the tablet is meant for it. Check open flash's website and see if you can't find one of their tunes for an MT2018 car, I'm pretty sure they have it, it should run better. |

Mine is a 2013 manual with a catback. I flashed to stage 1 and I noticed a change. Cold start isn't as loud, stable rpm idle and it was smoother overall.

I have a 19' GT86. Just flashed to Stage 1 this week and also noticed a bit the same. Lower RPMS feels like the car is being held back or pulling back. I do have the newest version 4.0.3, at Higher RPM car flys and catches speeds of 100+ like nothing. Waiting to install my header to upgrade.

The OFT V4 tunes switch to open loop fuel mode very quickly at quite low throttle input. this can tend to make car run quite rich fueling at lower/mid rpm and can dull performance as the open loop fuel table is set quite rich
Ive fixed this for a few guys in Australia |

You may want to make changes to the closed loop fuel tables, and the closed loop to open loop timers and throttle triggers and open loop fuel tables. So the transition is smoother and car stays in closed loop longer |

I am much happier with the Stage 2+ tune, although I still feel it's a bit rich on the lower RPM's. From my understanding though, this can vary from car to car and header to header. I plan on doing some tweaking in romraider in the near future. Still far preferable to stage 1 though. |
