..... All seriousness, at standstill shouldn't matter. But RPM and the amount of throttle do matter. Smaller pulleys will whine earlier/louder due to the compressor spinning faster.

I've noticed the same thing - I can only hear my SC on high RPMs at WOT. And even then it's not really loud. I have a 72.5mm pulley, but my exhaust is pretty loud haha (ACE header/OP, catless and loud catback).
I THINK the Jon Bond SC oil I'm using might take a little out of the sound, and the fact that the SC unit itself has been rebuilt by them with new/better bearings and seals, and has their breather/"oil consumption prevention"-kit.. Just a guess though, cause mine isn't nearly as loud as a lot of videos might suggest.

Well shit. Are you telling me that I should rev the car even more to make it whine?

Seems to be a lot of oil seepage and vacuum leak problems with the Sprintex design compared to the other SC options out there. I really like the kit but the amount of these issues are hard to ignore. Especially letting so much oil foul up the intake.

As far as vacuum leaks its 90% install error. Some do get leaks at the recirculation valve, and some do get leaks at the gasket from blower to manifold. Both are simpler fixes. The oil consumption is a concern, i think a lot of them are on non intercooled kits not 100% positive though. But heat is usually the killer of most things. So reducing heat and heatsoak should help. intercooler, gold heat wrap intake pipe, cai, E85/WMI, hood scoop and or vents etc... i also switched to tribodyn oil and opened dipstick once fully hot and re-closed it the theory is at operating temp pressure should be around ambient, and slight vacuum when cold. |

It shares the same flow/coolant and is just plumbed into the exiting system with a few minor changes. Water jacket is fabbed out of aluminium with SS fixings . |

For those running CF hoods: what are you running? Trying to figure out which hoods will clear our SC.

I'm seeing a lot of questions about the whine.
It seems many don't understand the kit has a bypass valve that stays open at low/part throttle that bypasses the supercharger entirely. As such, if you're not on 50%+ throttle then your supercharger isn't actually supercharging, and you won't get whine. From there, ditch the standard airbox and move to a pod style filter to get even more noise. Tldr; hit the accelerator harder if you want the whine. Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk |
