Shame on the dealer. Sad waste of money.
Wow, so I guess I shouldn't take it in again. At least I got a new TOB... at 30k kms...

Yep, thanks for bringing him into the thread! I looked up some videos on gear rollover and it seems to be the exact same noise I'm getting.

I don't mind the noise it was more of a worry that it could lead to an issue down the road when the warranty runs out.

Yep, these machines make a lot of strange sounds. Really nothing to worry about ….. because, it seems that when these cars make a bad sound that is life threatening ….. they just stop running -

With a new TOB, your car should be good to go for another 100,000 kms.

Yea it seems to be the case. I'm slowly getting used to the sounds and not worrying so much about them!

100,000kms for me on this car will be another 10 years

It's totally fine. Just remember that a quiet machine is a big fat heavy machine.

That's a good way to put it! This is my first lightweight sports car and I've definitely heard noises that other cars would dampen and mask. But it sure does seem to make up for that in the way it drives.

For me it strikes the perfect balance. It has its weaknesses but I understand and accept them with gratitude still. It's a wonderful little machine. There really is no other like it.

Sure is! It's also still practical enough to carry all my gear for work.

Thanks to you and humfrz for helping me figure this out!

I asked my dealer to replace the TOB whilst the engine was out recently for the recall, it has done about 85K kms, clutch was making a squeaky noise upon clutch depression again. The bearing looks fine to me, the whole enchilada just needed a really good clean & lube, including the clutch fork - smooth as butter now. Spark plugs also done, old ones looked OK too

It still looks like it's in good condition. Hopefully your recall went well!
