Which mods will age well on this platform?

Doesn't look bad to me (but then I like modded cars). My only 2 complaints are the sub ruining the trunk space and the lap belts. Those are meant to be part of a 5 or 6 point harness (had the same ones in our mini Baja car in university, as a harness). Not just a lap belt.

I think the point was the car they started with was a very good survivor, which should have just been restored, not "improved".

Yup. There are so few pristine examples of 240Z anymore. Most have rusted out or crashed.
If it had been dented or bent already I'd be fine with it.

When they bought it and drove back to the shop it was smoking like a badly aged barfly.
No mention at all of rebuilding the engine or driveline. Just carving the fenders and stick on flares.

If it were a 260 or 280 - sawzall all day long. They caught the bloat like Thunderbirds.
