if it is truly that much, I don't the aos would be it. What brand aos is it? Then I can at least try to see how it is hooked up vs how it should be to be sure.

We can do this diagnostic via pm as well so not to clutter the owners thread.

If your running an open pcv valve and not venting to atmosphere with your aos then that’s your problem. I made that mistake and it took 3 months for the oil to stop dripping out of my exhaust.

They said they removed the pcv valve.. But yeah for the first start the aos was recirculated to the intake port. The shop doesn't seem to think the aoS would cause this. Even after ive shown them peoples responses online telling me that aos is the cause. They are saying it should not cause that much oil to get pulled though at idle. It was a god awful amount of smoke. Like we just dumped straight oil into the exhaust.

did you check the aos to see if it also was full of oil? If so, then the aos could be the cause, but I would still pull the charge pipe off the turbo to check for oil there. Its only 2 clamps.... That is if your bumper is still off the car. You could also just pull that line off that went from the intake to the aos and check it for oil.

Once you find the issue, as stated above, it will take a long time for the oil to clear out.

Given you have oil built up in the downpipe, I'm still leaning towards the restrictor was missing. But we have more diagnostic steps to take to determine that.

So, 2 ways for oil to get where you have it.
1 is through the seals in the turbo and directly into the exhaust
2 is through the aos and into the intake, through the motor and into the exhaust

We need to find out if oil is in your charge piping or not. And also how far in the charge piping and how much oil if it is there. That will determine where to look next.

I will forward this to the shop... But honestly at this point thinking I might need to just tow the car home or to a new shop. Not sure I have the funds to fix any more issues that are going to cost more money.

Yep that’s your issue then. I’m almost positive. Put a STI pcv valve in there or unhook your intake manifold line to the separator and plug the manifold and I bet it stops sucking the oil in. When I messed up it it filled my catch can full of oil and filled my exhaust full of oil and smoked so bad I left a trail of smoke a mile long. After fixing it it still smoked burning off the excess but nothing near before.

I would suggest just removing the AOS from the equation altogether. When in doubt, remove variables.

For the life of me I'll never understand five hundred dollar catch cans. My fourty dollar K-motors can has a baffle, a drain valve, and my intercooler and charge piping are clean.

Is anyone aware of a ball bearing upgrade to the old precision 4854/4831 that can utilize the same downpipe connection? The only T3 2.8 compressor inlet/2.0 outlet to vband discharge turbo I am finding online is a 5558, which to my understanding is a competitor to a garrett gt3067r. I was hoping for something comparable to a gt28 ball bearing, if not one itself but it appears it's not adaptable to the v1 setup.

So yeah the engine is blown. Rod knock after the first 4psi data log...Most likely due to Impulse Performance installing the AOS wrong and sucking oil into the intake during the first start up...

I was following your build thread and I thought everything got situated. Sorry to hear that happened. Are you thinking of rebuilding the block?
