If you want the best header you are going to pay, for a street car, maybe not worth the outlay, BUT, if you are competing, you would be silly not to. Hell, in the end it does cost more, but, if you want to be competitive you would gladly pay the extra, I would. As for being part way money wise to a turbo build, not really, plus it would change your class as well.

After 7 years of ownership and a few grand thrown at it, I wish I got my Pilot Super Sport tires FIRST. Huge improvement over stock. Best increase in performance per dollar spent imo.
Mod I wish I could give back? My Perrin CAI. The throaty sound I get under acceleration is nice (so I'm keeping it), but cleaning the filter is annoying (have to remove the bumper) and no increase in performance without a tune. |

The Ace, JDL 4-2-1 also include the overpipe as part of their design, which should be considered when adding up costs. Most OP end up costing few hundred bucks which would narrow the gap to anybody touching all parts of the exhaust. |

*Performance* street Pads/Brake Fluid/Tires = good.
Anything stance/tin can exhausts (cough cough, N1 Nvidia) = bad.

For me, it's been OFT. I've changed tunes multiple times to fit mods (catless, catted) and conditions (track, street, etc.). I've data-logged with it at the track and tweaked my tune to make sure it is running safely. I've now switched to e85 and there's a tune for that. I've been really happy with OFT for what I use it for.

Favorite mod: coilovers.
Worst mod: heavy wheels (too cheap to buy another set).

Coilovers as a first mod? Seems steep.

Forgot to mention, but I'd think the worst mods would be the ones you spent money/time on, but later found that it wasn't worth the dollars ( to each his own, this is all up to the owner of the vehicle what he/she deems to be worth/ not worth the money).
Besides protective parts (floor mats, tint, clear bra, etc) that I've heard good things about, the other three fairly easy/bolt ons would be 1. K&N or TRD drop in air filter, 2. TRD or RCE springs to lower the car about 1". 3. Also the Cusco steering brace , which can be had for about $110 on Ebay. The BRZ aero under-pannels would be sweet to get, but hard to find used, and new they are $250.

Favorite mod: OEM Audio + sound system. All speakers factory speakers & tweeters were replaced and the sound quality is AMAZING. Never gets old. Great first mod and if I had to choose to do only one mod, I'd do OEM Audio.
It wasn't my first mod, but if I could go back in time, it would be! -Sam |

Favorite first mod is probably the clutch engagement point mod. For me, being stocky and having long legs the stock engagement point was very hard to control. Having it set to a more intuitive point makes driving easier.
Worst first mods are styling / aesthetic mods from people who probably have no business in putting their own personal taste on such a beautiful car.

No much done in 3 months of ownership, but the tires is definitly the "easy" mod with the biggest impact on the overall driving experience. FYI I went with the Indy 500 and I love them.
If you can get new tires, lightweight wheels combined with TRD springs is also a good start IMO. It make the car's handling more precise, it's like a scalpel in corners. The "sound tube" delete might not count as a mod since it doesn't had or replace a part, but it's very easy to do and gives the real sound of the car...not that faky noise. The worst mod might be a big stupid wing that will give you downforce at 280 km/h.
