Hardly, You are watching me build my 1st van... And, I'm already looking for a hightop (or pop-top) 4x4 to use as my next project. Sprinter? Promaster? Transit? IDK, I'm going to drive them and see which one I like.

I had a couple of vans in the 70s. I would give you decorating tips but don't know where you can buy CB sets, shag carpeting and fake fur these days.

I agree! I'd choose:
Shag + biscuit tuck > Tie-dye + Hippie Smell My plan, currently, is to have white walls and wood roof and rear doors. Much like this van... ![]()

That's a fun use of a vehicle that no longer runs! I'd hang out in that van! Look at that VIEW!!!

Transit, no question. Best to drive of the three, best view, much cheaper to maintain (and easier to find folks who can work on them when you're on the road) than the Sprinter... no question in my mind. We were planning on "building" our own off-the-grid van for an extended cross-country trip and drove all of those during the research phase. Eventually, we decided to go a different direction (Land Cruiser w/ roof-top tent), but the van scene really had/has a lot of appeal.

Thanks, I agree! I have been talking with other vanlifers, and many suggest staying with an american brand for ease of maintenance and repair. Plus, the transit is available with the 3.5 ecoboost!
