Creaky/poppy suspension or steering components?
About a month ago, I started hearing my suspension creaking/popping at various time. Mostly very low speed bumps and also while turning the wheel at no or low speeds.
I thought it may be the sway bar end links, so I tightened those to make sure they weren't slipping. I still hear the same sounds. I actually made a video for it as well. So far my suspension mods are: CSG Spec Tein Flex A's Verus Rear Lower Control Arms Whiteline front and rear sway bars Whiteline front end links SPL rear end links (whiteline ones pulled out threads) So nothing too crazy. My thoughts have now shifted to the steering rack, but I'm leaning on you guys that may have experienced this to let me know your own. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS-NvFkVWrg"]Here's the vid.[/ame] Hopefully the sounds are loud enough for anyone to hear. Thanks for all the help in advance!

I had already checked my end links first, my man.
Thoughts on it being anything else? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Nah. I've never had exhaust clearance issues in the 4 years I've had my exhaust (minus driveshaft area with a single piece shaft).

I had a set of Tein Flex Z and the nut at the top of the strut loosened itself. Try checking that.

The EPS on this car has a rubber coupler between the EPS motor and the worm gear. With time this coupler will crumble and then you have metal to metal contact and it makes a bunch of noise at low speed. The sound in your video sounds nothing like the EPS issue but you may want to focus some attention to the EPS unit to rule that out. The EPS is connected directly to the steering column down around the pedals. If the sound seems to be coming from there then that could be your issue. It’s a $7 part and not too difficult to install.

Were you getting any noise from it once it had loosened?

I haven't noticed the noise bear the pedals. It's definitely a popping sound originating near the wheel wells. That said, I do need to lube the steering column bushing in the firewall, so while I'm in there, I'll check out the coupler, unless that's what you're describing.

Yep. I couldn't find it under the car no matter how hard I looked. I had the hood open and happened to notice one had less threads sticking out of the nut and could spin it by hand. Tightened it to 44ft-lbs and no more noise.

I'll admit that's one connection I didn't readily think to tighten.

You can’t just glance at the coupler. It’s inside the EPS unit. You have to pull a few interior panels off and then unbolt the column so you can drop it and then access the EPS unit. You then unbolt the EPS motor which exposes the coupler. But I seriously doubt that is your problem based on the sound in your video. |

I'd check the preload collars on the coil overs too. They like to work loose, especially the fronts. I have to check mine fairly regularly. |
