Finally read @ichitaka05 article on the Supra. As much as the AT thing irks me I would like to test drive one. I know paddles are the future (well present) of modern car and they might be better more high tech but it is kind of a bummer. If it handles well though with a turbo 6 to boot that could be some serious smiles per gallon. I do also want to see the look in person. It looks so strange in picturee I can't decide if I like it or hate it. I am definitely more a red or yellow person, however. A car with curves like that shouldn't be masked in dark colors IMHO.

Thanks for reading that long ass review. AT is something you gotta get used to. Yes, MT is a lot of fun, but how hp/tq line match nicely w 8 sp and feels like it has more power than it looks on the paper. I've talk with Tada-san about this and I get why they went with AT... but they should maybe look into MT, not because ZF 8HP bad, but just some ppl want MT just cuz they wanna row through the gears.

Look wise, you need to see in person to decide. It's always the case, but photos online doesn't do justice.

Black looked nice... but like you said, a car with curves like that shouldn't be masked in dark colors.

When I was a kid, I was a Mac fan and my friend was a PC fan. He loved DOS and how much control he had over the computer. I pointed out that the Mac GUI just worked better 99% of the time. It's the manual vs auto debate. Once you get enough HP and torque then load on an 8-speed+ auto, there's little reason to go with a manual. The autos are faster in a straight line and on track. With paddles, you can even downshift in anticipation of a pass. This is different from, say, a Miata or a twin, where the low power seems to go better with a manual's lighter weight and greater power efficiency.

So for a twin, you're a wuss if you get an auto. You can aim for the highest performance and build a skill. But if you have 300+ lb/ft of torque and a good auto transmission option, may as well get it. No matter how good you are with a manual, the auto will be faster.

This is why the first GT4 is so stupid to me. It has more power but no PDK, so it's purposefully slower than it could be. The new one with PDK is gonna be an amazingly fast track car.

It's been raining everyday for at least part of the day for like 2 months in CT. Yesterday was the only sunny day I can remember in recent weeks. This is the rainy season in New England but this year has been crazy.

mac= auto.
pc=manual.

mac is good for 75% of everything one would want to do with a computer in a normal day. it will do it faster, more seamlessly, and with less issues.

but for that last 23% of us that screw stuff up and like digging deep, pc works better. of course there's at least 50% of that 75 that either believe that they need the extra functionality of the 23%-ers, or have been trained that way by a 23%-er.

i left 2% for the linux, um, "people". i try to be nice here and there.
