My wife and I have been very down. We had a buyer for our house, but they suddenly became way over demanding and unreasonable. We had to cancel sale. We are back on the market, but taking the time off we lost momentum. We had to cancel the deal on the house we wanted in Idaho to get our earnest money back. We feel awful wasting 2 months of other people's time. We are so stressed out, and down. That and I'm busy fixing stuff on our home report. So far, my retirement sucks.

![]() Hopefully, you will find a new buyer soon. Maybe that house in Idaho will still be on the market after you get another offer/sale on your house. I've personally gotten bumped off a sale on two houses, one in California and one out here. Both times we found a better house - Even if you have to wait to get and sale or close on your house in San Jose, before you can move into a new house in Idaho, you can always put your household goods and cars in temporary storage and rent a furnished apartment on a short term basis. When we moved out here, I came out a couple of months before the family to start a new job. I rented a fully furnished apartment, equipped with all the stuff (bedding, kitchenware etc.). Everything worked out just fine. Besides, if you live in temporary quarters in Idaho for a few weeks, you will have the time and freedom, to do a lot of traveling and exploring your new territory, without the constraints of home ownership. After all, you have the rest of your life to personalize your new house. Cheer up - your retired - life is good - ![]() humfrz |

But, I'd rather concentrate on my own good news. Yesterday I received a phone call from Services Canada telling me that they were reversing their decision. This means that the damages I received in my wrongful termination case will not be considered income and I will not have to pay tens of thousands of dollars in taxes. Yippee!! ![]() Still, sorry for you and your wife's situation. |

We were outbid or refused on several homes before we got our current place, which was more expensive but much better than all the other choices. Things tend to work out.
I also wholly agree with Humfrz. Sell your current home. Move to Idaho. Rent a place month to month. Buy when you find the perfect spot. Also, no contingencies when selling. It's still a hot market. You can do that. Also, one of the homes we were refused on ended up selling a couple years later for what we offered.

I'm not saying some BS "it was meant to be" crap. I just mean that there are LOTS of homes out there. Lots of options.
I know you know this, Sapphic Erotica. I just figure it's good to be reminded anyway.

Managed to remove a single rear strut from the forester. Now I have to get a passthrough socket set from a store so I can remove and install the spring from the old to the new strut. Joy. Car in pieces. #Nightmare.
