F- thread title. I came for large sheets of paint being pulled off a car.

I remember putting chipped off, maybe it was autocorrect or maybe I'm just stupid. Probably the second one. Anyway, that was either the next day or the day after. I live right along the gulf coast so I'm not surprised at how quick it popped up.

My bathing suit was nearly ripped off and lost in the Hudson River once if that counts. Got thrown from a towed tube, and next thing I remember I was treading water with my bathing suit around my ankles.

To the OP, even if it's a terrible repair job no one except you will notice on an edge like that. You might need some primer if it's down to the metal. Then base and clear. Each layer needs to be as thin as possible.

Got a chip on my roof a couple years back driver's side corner next to the windshield, gave it a bit of touch up and it kept coming back where I did the touch up. (I'm not pro and I did a horrible job).

Asked to get it fixed at a body shop last September. Rust spot is back and bigger than ever. It's about the size of a Toonie now and paint is chipping around it. Happened after a touchless car wash. I'm having horrible luck with this roof. I might start to give up on the roof.

The lower body has far, far, far greater rust resistance properties. Chip on my fender has been there 5 years and has a slight haze of surface rust with zero change to the adjoining paint.
Chips along my roof line (8 of them) are about 6 months old and look like a 10 year old car.
Guess they didn't feel that the roof would be subjected to the same damage as the lower body.

Pictures are potato quality but the message is clear.

Yeah, exact same thing for me. I don't care that much about the aesthetics, but when it just looks sloppy it bothers me. I may just sand it down again and reapply a black paint that most people won't notice. As long as it doesn't look rusted.

Yep loads of chrome and 22 feet above the road!
Instead the rocker panels disappeared in 5 to 8 years.
