Also some other options: http://locktonmotorsports.com/product/track-insurance/ http://www.lelandwest.com/eligibility/ As the saying goes: Race only what you can afford to blow up. Otherwise run track insurance. ![]() Edit: The insurance companies that I added may or may not insure in Canada. Didn't see the subforum.

the only reason that you should not track your vehicle is if its loss would prove to be catastrophic to your daily routine or finances. While I would definitely cry if my FRS burned to the ground tomorrow, I could weather through it. this chronic fear of the insurance companies is crippling to the scene. you bought a sport(ty) car, drive it!

Accidents happen at auto x as well. I have seen 2 vehicles written off at two separate events unfortunately.

i've done more damage to my car outside of autocross/track than in it..... having said that... i've seen experts do serious damage to their cars from seemingly silly mistakes i've seen complete novices escape catastrophic results by sheer luck i've missed a truck sized haybale wrapped in plastic by mere inches traveling at 80kph i've cracked the oilpan of a friend's car hopping a curb after flying sideways through the grass i've spun more times in the wet while doing a good speed than I care to remember i've forgotten to tighten lugnuts before going on the track i've driven 2 hot laps with a deflated tire before realizing that the back end snapping on me was probably something I should inspect that's just the things I can remember in the last 5 minutes, the list can go on and will grow exponentially if I start mixing in the experience of others. at the end of the day shit will happen, there is a certain level of increased probability of shit happening while you're out on the track, but at the same time there is still a very real danger of shit happening OFF the track. like in my case. To this day, the vast majority of body or mechanical damage i've suffered as a result of things that happened on the street, daily driving, yet i've come very close to serious accidents while on the track, although it's safe to say that 99.9% of that was entirely my fault. so really it's a matter of perspective and you can either tether on the safe side or the brazen side, entirely up to you.

Its easy until you are the one they select to investigate further and if you signed papers to say something which did not happen, you are into fraud territory. and if you choose to stick with your story and it goes to court, you are looking at lying under oath (perjury or obstruction of justice) which is criminal. IMHO not worth it. |

They'll also likely ask why there's no police report if the car rolled on a public road.

I think the same requirement will apply to most if not all of the other Provinces and States.
Can't imagine that in this day you can roll your car and just tow it home and collect insurance. I also can't imagine the abuse that system would take.
